Bryna in Africa - May 3 update

Hey everyone!

I guess I had not noticed how long it had been since I sent an update... oops! Thanks too all thoes who emailed me to make sure I was still alive! I am and very well. My work with the monkeys is only getting better and better! We just got 4 new baby monkeys in at the sick bay where I spend most of my time. I have had some really great times with them. they only seem too be comfortable with myself and Lisa, (and they only would come too me for the first 4 days!) I still continue too get bit by Carules, a monkey in with my new ones. I got one bit on the neck and one on the cheek that caused massive pain but little injury.

Lisa, Arthur and I had a lovely evening in sick bay the other day- you guys would have thought we were all crazy! Arthur was playing with the preprogramed songs on the keyboard we have in sickbay and Nandiny (one of my origional 3 monkey friends) began too do (as we call hoping) the jumjums, too the beat of the song!!! So me and Lisa and eventualy all 7 other monkeys joined in too! We were all grooving along too the tunes! It was the most amazing thing! Sometimes I forget I'm human - or 20, I feel more like 5 when I'm in with the baby monkeys! It is the most youthfull and amazing experience!

I also began work on Monkey Patrol last week, this is a program where we go out too schools and hospitals that have monkey issues and teach them non-leathal meens of dealing with the issue AKA feeding stations, slingshots etc... this is a great project that has allowed me too travel up to the north corner of the country where you are the only white person for miles (very enlightning experience). The people are known as the Vaunder people. Very kind, where the men hold hands and greet each other with so much respect and love! The drive is never boring! Beautiful land! I go out this coming Tuesday & Wednesday to go check up on 3 hospitals. We will camp overnight at a campground.

The Wednesday after Craig is meant too take me out for the day to look for reptiles! YEAH! He introduced me too his father because his father thinks he is al ittle werid for being into Herps. I told him his son was weird, but it had nothing too do with the reptiles, that it is an easily contracted disease that many have. I went too a reptile park the other day where I met man from South America who gave me a private tour of the park and took out a blackthroat and a..... BLACK MAMBA! For me too touch! Holy crap! So amazing! :S

For Little Ray- he also asked me if I knew how the Seaway Serpentarium with doing- haha! Turns out Carl owes him some cash money for snakes he gave him years ago. The curator of the place chatted with me and asked for your contact info so I passed it along.

Elin left today and Jess not too long ago leaving me with 2 less lovely people, but there is still no shortage. I am also getting to know some of the workers, they are also very kind but culturally hesitant too aproach women. Sammy, who works with the monkeys during the day and looks after tent village in the evening while we are at the house is Very nice! I stayed up with him and chatted about local animal names and bee keeping for an hour or so before my early too bed last night. I have noticed that having a pack of smokes can get you far with the locals here, so I have invested in one- VERY cheep here) so that I can barter them for info and goods muhahahah!
As for my illness- I am fine, went too the doctor, spent a fortune on drugs I already had (took mine) but at the end of the day- my heath was worth 300ran!

Well, I hope you all feel updated! I love you all very much and miss you all! I'm half way done my adventure and this really scares me... however, I know I will be back! I have been told I HAVE too come back! haha!

Lots and lots of love! Bryna
